The Players' Studio

The Springfield Community Players Studio, home for our creative endeavors, is housed in one of the Springfield School District’s former elementary school buildings.  The Players lease this one-story building from the District and are responsible for all up-keep and improvements.  Over the years the Players have, among other major and minor improvements and repairs, replaced the roof, siding and doors.

The Studio contains the theater, Green Room, ticket booth, men's and women's dressing rooms, lighting booth, shop, costume loft, office, rooms for props and costume accessories, scenery storage and restrooms.

The theater itself has 80 comfortable seats for the audience.

Sets are recycled to help keep production costs down.

The Players construct 4 to 5 sets a year

The Green Room, where actors relax between scenes

The Green Room contains memories of past productions.

The Costume Loft

The Costume Loft holds thousands of wardrobe pieces.

Costumes for most periods are available on site.

Roman, medieval, western, gay-nineties...we've got 'em!

It may look like spaghetti, but our lighting system does the job.

The Players upgraded the Studio's lighting system in 2000.

Other recent renovations to the Studio include a new lighting booth, a new stage lighting system and a new lighting room, a new loft for storage of our extensive costume collection, a new office area, new Studio signs for the outside of the building, new audience theater seating, and renovations of the women's dressing room, the restrooms and the Green Room, now decorated with hundreds of pictures of past productions.

The Players' float won 1st place in Springfield's annual Alumni Parade.

From time to time other performing groups use the Players' Studio, as the schedule permits.
