Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to create and sustain an interest in the arts, with a focus on fostering the development of community theater and providing opportunities for the development of skills in all phases of theater including drama, dance, reading, music, and the art of staging and set design; and presenting theatrical works for the enjoyment and instruction of the public.
Our Theater: The Studio
The Springfield Community Players Studio, home for our creative endeavors, is housed in one of the Springfield School District’s former elementary school buildings. The Players lease this one-story building from the District and are responsible for all up-keep and improvements. Over the years the Players have, among other major and minor improvements and repairs, replaced the roof, siding and doors.
The Bob Spindler Award
Since 1965, the “Bob Spindler Award” has been awarded annually to the Springfield Community Players member who has been voted to have demonstrated outstanding support of the Players during the previous year.
